About the Film
The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie (1972), directed by Luis Buñuel, is a surreal satire of the bourgeoisie. The film follows a group of upper-middle-class friends who repeatedly attempt to dine together, only to be interrupted each time by strange and absurd events. Through this structure, Buñuel exposes the emptiness, hypocrisy, and contradictions hidden behind a respectable façade.

The Concept
The Table is a fictional lifestyle club that translates the film’s critique into a contemporary interactive experience. Just as the characters in the film chase an unattainable dinner, the club highlights the absurd rituals of wealth and privilege, offering “exclusive” access that is ultimately shallow and satirical.

User Experience and Design
The website presents itself as a polished luxury platform, granting members benefits and updates from the world of wealth. Yet the design deliberately undermines this image—balancing elegance with surreal and humorous elements that echo Buñuel’s cinematic style. This creates a playful critique of bourgeois superficiality, exposing how hollow and nonsensical the lifestyle truly is.
